I just got a brief phone call from Brian saying that they had arrived safely in Saut, the second village of the three that they are visiting. Apparently a tire blew out on our truck on the drive down to Lae on Wednesday, but they were able to repair it just fine. (Brian spent half of Saturday welding together a new brace in our truck bed to hold the spare tire. I mentioned to him that he should make sure to bring along a wrench to loosen the bolts that held the tire in place. Now I’m really glad that I thought of that!).
Brian didn’t talk long since he was borrowing a cell phone from one of their Papua New Guinean guides to call (ours wasn’t getting good reception), but I have scheduled a time to talk with him on the radio tomorrow, so hopefully I will have some more details after that.
Thanks for praying!
