Hello friends. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas. We sure did. Here we are with week 12 of our photo journal. Enjoy!
We'll just get this one out of the way first - the obligatory photo of kiddos in front of tree on Christmas morning. (Wearing the matching p.j.'s they got to open up on Christmas Eve.)
I made peppermint marshmallows, and they were a big hit at the Christmas Eve soup dinner that we hosted for a few friends. New Christmas tradition?
Brothers. A relationship that isn't always the smoothest!
Flying with daddy
Christmas break means sun, shorts and sunscreen around here!
The scowl is Caleb's default look. You have to earn a smile.
Happy with what he found in his stocking.
A favorite new toy.
...and another favorite new toy!
Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Dale emailed the boys a very creative story that they created with photos of Lego scenes that they built. (Yes...they are pretty awesome grandparents).
For Christmas dinner we splurged on a ham,
and mango pie!
A first haircut!
Our big project for Christmas break - removing the old fireplace and installing a wood stove. The first step was a messy one. We had to disconnect the pipes that run water through the fireplace (it's a back-up to our solar hot water system). Unfortunately, the person who designed the system opted to not put in a shut-off valve for these pipes. So we had to drain the whole 300-liter hot water tank on our roof into buckets here in our living room. Once it was dry, Brian climbed up in the attic and installed shut-off valves so that we don't have to deal with a well-watered living room when we install the hot water back-up in the new wood stove.
See you next week!

Actually, Grandpa made the Lego scenes. Grandma did the photo editing and added the text.
