Wycliffe Bible Translators is a faith-based non-profit mission. This means that their missionaries are not paid a salary, but raise their financial support individually through a network of churches and individuals. Our donors give money each month to Wycliffe Bible Translators, and designate it towards our account. At the end of every month, Wycliffe deducts 10% of the total amount to cover administrative costs (6% goes towards Wycliffe US admin costs and 4% goes to the Papua New Guinea branch to cover admin costs here). They will then deduct payments for our health insurance, social security, and retirement savings. We also set aside a certain amount each month as savings towards our airfare home at the end of our term when it's time for furlough (currently scheduled for mid-2017). The remainder comes to us as our monthly "paycheck" the following month. We use this money to pay for our day-to-day living expenses such as food, electricity, etc., as well as to pay for ministry-related expenses, such as travel to villages.
We appreciate surprise one-time gifts, as they often seem to correspond with unexpected expenses (isn't it funny how God works like that?), but it is the regular monthly gifts that help to keep us going day-today.
There are two ways that you can give to our Wycliffe ministry. One is by giving online by electronic check, credit card, or by setting up a monthly bank transfer. You can follow this link to Give Online.
